Benevon Organizational Workshops

All of the workshops in the Benevon Curriculum for Sustainable Funding can be tailored for 25 or more teams from statewide, regional, national, or international organizations that commit to work with Benevon for a five-year period.

These special, private workshops provide organizations and communities the opportunity to customize the model to their unique needs, and train their nonprofits in our systematic approach for donor engagement and donor development, leading to sustainable funding.

Special Benefits for Organizations

In addition to the training, coaching, and other materials normally included in the Benevon Curriculum for Sustainable Funding, your groups will receive the following special benefits:

  • The ongoing support and skilled coaching needed to ensure that the model becomes fully integrated into the day-to-day life of each organization or chapter

  • For national organizations, a special pre-workshop customization session to:
    • Tailor each aspect of the Benevon Model to your organization's existing marketing and fundraising programs
    • Define criteria for successful implementation of the model
    • Customize materials such as the video, handouts, and other collateral materials for your specific brand

  • The opportunity to choose the location where the workshop will be held

  • The opportunity to add customized features for participants, such as:
    • A welcome reception dinner
    • Awards/special recognition for board members
    • Testimonials from other local offices that have been successful with the model

  • Special post-workshop group coaching calls with all participants from the workshop

  • Alumni coaching/reunion sessions at regional and national meetings

  • Ongoing tracking and reporting of financial results to the national office

  • Training of up to 15 new team members per team over the five-year program period so long as they are all from the same local office as the original team and will be doing their fundraising together at one Ask Event

Results

  • In 2007, groups in the Five-Year Program (local office) raised an average of over $400,000 in gifts and pledges

  • By the third year, groups in the Five-Year Program had raised, on average, a cumulative total of $1.5 million in gifts and pledges through using the Benevon Model

  • By the fifth year, groups in the Five-Year Program had raised, on average, a cumulative total of over $3.5 million in gifts and pledges through using the Benevon Model

  • A dramatic increase in the number of new individual donors (60%–80%)

Criteria and Requirements

  • The explicit support and buy-in of the organization's CEO and senior fund development staff

  • A guarantee of a minimum of 25 teams
(Our definition of a "team" is very specific: eight people from each local chapter, branch, or office. Members of each team will be doing their fundraising together. Teams consisting of individuals from multiple offices within a given organization are not suitable for the customization and implementation of this model.)
